Islamic Failure Series – Episode 51 – Jesus didn’t die on the cross, and the Bible is corrupt. Quranic Dilemma
Christians would love to use this post to argue against the Islamic claims that the Christian Bible is corrupt. The Islamic version of “corruption” in the Bible is not the same concept or idea that atheists or others might think of, when it comes to the hundreds of different translations and versions of the Bible. At least, all the Bible versions I am aware of, although they might have different wordings, still claim Jesus was born from a virgin, performed miracles, captured, tortured, and then died on the cross, and resurrected on the third day, and went to heaven. Whereas if you get any Quran, it does not matter where you get it from, you can be sure that they are literally an identical copy of each other, letter by letter, comma by comma, verse by verse. The only difference you might find is the size of the printed characters.
So Muslims brag about the idea that their Quran is universal no matter where you get it from, and the Bible is corrupt, not only because of the translation, but because the original versions were lost, and some original texts were lost, modified, deleted, or mistranslated. Muslims believe that the original Bible never said that Jesus was crucified, never claimed he is the son of God rather than a simple human, a normal human prophet of God/Allah. The Islamic claim comes mainly from this Quranic verse:
(An-Nisa 4:157, Arabic – Original)
And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.
(An-Nisa 4:157, English – Sahih International)
So, here we are having a Quranic verse that says that Jesus didn’t die on the cross! Any Bible containing such claim is incorrect and corrupt.
I am an atheist and I do not believe in Jesus, the Bible, Allah, God, the Quran, Muhammad or any religious claim or doctrine. It might seem that I am defending the Christian faith in this post, but let me say it LOUD AND CLEAR, I regard all of them as delusions, I am not defending Christianity, I reject it, and regard it another fable for idiots, but I am sure that some people would use this post to accuse me of defending Christianity or use it to defend the Christian faith against this Islamic claim. I am warning you, I am not defending Christianity!
For the sake of the discussion, I will agree with Muslims about the corruption of the Bible without even asking “which part was corrupted”. I will only ask one simple question: “When?” When did the Bible get corrupt? When did this corruption happen?
It might seem an odd question, and people might disagree with me for asking the “when” question rather than the “what part was corrupted”! After all, what was corrupted is the crux of the discussion, otherwise these two religions would be preaching, more or less, the same thing about Jesus, and Christianity wouldn’t be in direct conflict with Islam on this issue. For this reason, I will also quote another verse from the Quran
(Al-Maeda 5:47, Arabic – Original)
And let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are the defiantly disobedient.
(Al-Maeda 5:47, English – Sahih International)
Notice that the verbs used here are all present tense in Arabic, it says what Allah has revealed It also says People of the Gospel, aka Christians judge by what Allah/God has revealed!
Dilemma and Quranic Failure:
When these words were spoken in 7th century Saudi Arabia, god was telling the people of the Gospel to judge by what god has revealed in the gospel. How can they do that if that book, the Gospel, is corrupt? If the gospel is corrupt, then why would Allah/God ask people to go to a corrupt book?
If Muhammad is telling people let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein then there are two possibilities:
🔴1: The Bible is inspired by God and cannot be corrupt, thus what the Bible claims about Jesus, i.e. death on the cross and resurrection on thirst day, is a proof of the invalidity of the first verse http://quran.com/4/157! Quran shot itself in the foot!
🔴 2: The Bible is NOT inspired by God and is corrupt, then Allah is telling people to judge by a false book http://quran.com/5/47 which is another Quranic failure!
The point of this post is not to prove the validity of the Bible. The Bible is a fable, and I don’t really care if the story of the three little pigs was corrupt or not because it doesn’t even make sense to say that a fable is corrupt. And I’m not here to argue pro the Christian biblical delusion! Get over it! It is fake! Grow up. The post is to show you a Quranic logical contradiction!
