When you argue with a Muslim regarding violence and killing mandated in Quran, they sometimes challenge you to bring one verse that asks Muslims to kill. Unfortunately when you bring them one, they will tell you that you took it out of context! Well, here are few independent verses, and I wonder if any proper context could ever fit to justify killing! BUT Let me make this clear for people who want to comment, especially Muslims. I am not asking you to provide a context, if context exists at all. And for the sake of the discussion I will assume there is a proper context and a justification for the killing. My post is not about the context rather than about Allah the almighty, the all knowing, omnipotent, and merciful couldn’t have come with anything better than killing and fighting?! Pretty convincing!
Isn’t Allah supposed to be merciful? Isn’t he supposed to be omnipotent? Doesn’t he love us and care about us? Then why do his suggestions resemble human solutions? This is what I expect from a human to suggest to his followers, “fight and kill”, but from an omnipotent and merciful god, this is a total failure
This post does not only represent the Islamic god, but also the Judeo-Christian God who is not less killer than Allah himself. A total inability to stop bloodshed except by the use of force, and bloodshed. There is no difference between Hammurabi and Allah and the Judeo-Christian Godhttp://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_of_Hammurabi
Here are the Islamic resources from Quran
(Muhammad 47:4, Arabic – Original)
So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah – never will He waste their deeds.
(Muhammad 47:4, English – Sahih International)
(Al-Baqara 2:216, Arabic – Original)
Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.
(Al-Baqara 2:216, English – Sahih International)
(Al-Anfal 8:12, Arabic – Original)
[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, “I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip.”
(Al-Anfal 8:12, English – Sahih International)
(At-Tawba 9:5, Arabic – Original)
And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
(At-Tawba 9:5, English – Sahih International)
(An-Nisa 4:76, Arabic – Original)
Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of Taghut. So fight against the allies of Satan. Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak.
(An-Nisa 4:76, English – Sahih International)
