Islamic failure series – Episode 16 – Debunking an Islamic Miracle

Islamic failure series – Episode 16 – Debunking an Islamic Miracle
This is one of the most quoted verses of Islam which Muslims believe to be a miracle. Why miracle? Because it says two things

1. That heavens and Earth were a joined entity

2. That water is necessary for every living thing
This sound logical and true, after all, no living being we are aware of can survive without water.

http://quran.com/21/30

(Al-Anbiya 21:30, Arabic – Original)

Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?
(Al-Anbiya 21:30, English – Sahih International)

Now to the analysis:
So Heavens and Earth eh? Before you proceed, I just want you to watch this video on how small and insignificant is planet earth (at least from a size perspective), especially at the time around 2:53 when it starts to zoom in Comparison of planets and stars http://youtu.be/Ov5AHcCQtd8 Quran is talking about heavens and earth as if they were even comparable, not knowing that with or without Earth the universe won’t change because Earth is really really insignificant. This comparison can come only from a scientifically ignorant person who thinks that earth and heavens are comparable in size, which is really where Quran came from, Muhammad the scientifically ignorant person.

Also, Muhammad was in the desert, and people knew the importance of water to life, that is why most probably such obvious trivial sentence is found there. Ancient Greeks knew the importance of water to life, but this is not what I am trying to prove, rather than the claim that this sentence is a miracle by itself. Well, if this is a miracle, then I will give you another miracle that is even better. I’d say And I made from Carbon every living thing! Not only I state my miracle but I also challenge Islam and science as well, and the whole humanity to find one single form of life, any form, that is not Carbon based! Had Quran said this phrase instead of water, I’d be impressed, but to underline the importance of water to life from a desert society is not even close to be a miracle! It is just a confirmation that water is necessary from desert people who suffered from a dry climate and appreciate water! Call that a miracle!

AND HERE COMES THE MOTHER OF ALL FAILURES

I am quoting again:
Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?
Who the hell is we? Isn’t Islam based on one single delusion called Allah? Who is the we if Allah is supposed to be the one talking? There is a “we” thing in Arabic, a form of respect, but that doesn’t make sense when it comes to Allah, who is he trying to respect? Who are the “we”? Instead of giving people a sharp clear book, Allah tends to insert words that could be misinterpreted, why? Wasn’t he aware of this?

About Mike

Hello, I am an atheist because of reason and personal experience. I am a father of THREE lovely living kids and two dead embryos, married to a lovely Christian Catholic devoted woman. Yes, black and white can coexist as long as there is respect and love, which is something abstracted from any belief or religion. I do not claim absolute truth and not 100% sure that a God does not exist somewhere out there. The scientific method is what I use to connect to reality. If there is something I don't understand, then it is because i don't understand, not because god exists. In case you haven't noticed, I am a native Arab, and English is my third language (yes there is second language). I like reading the Bible and the Quran and the critics of both of them. I also love watching documentaries especially astronomy, cosmology, Quantum Physics, and new discoveries in science in general, and Physics in particular.
